Outside Spring 2019 Sacai Fashion Show

A guy in a ‘FUCK YOU’ tee amongst Sacai Spring 2019 Fashion Show attendees.

The day was Oct 1, 2019, a chilly Autumn morning in Paris. I brought along my 50mm, 24mm, and the kit lens that came with my Canon DSLR, and enjoyed snapping attendees leaving the venue of Sacai Spring 2019 Fashion Show outside Palais de Tokyo.

Point, and snap. Interesting – a dude in a big ‘FUCK YOU’ slogan tee was captured amongst a flock of fashionistas in the latest Sacai right outside the sortie

Also at the show, founder and editor-in-chief of cult street style magazine 032c Joerg Koch was spotted mocking this fella on Instagram, saying ‘Why so rude? We love our jobs, fashion people.’

And we do. Even Joerg, who’s known for his nonchalant ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude, thinks too much is too much sometimes.

Jokes aside, it’s 2019. Out-of-context anti-social anarchism and rudeness in general, is uncool. I’d like to think that we as a community is beyond that.

Like Chitose Abe’s philosophy, I appreciate quiet sophistication. There’s beauty and wisdom in reimagining the mundane, challenging status quo with true innovation.

Contrast stitch trousers paired with some pearly Palace sneakers.

Behind the doors of the venue, photographers, fashion students, and aspiring models were also spotted in choppy reconstructed garments, perhaps as a tribute to Sacai’s signature rework style.

Seen in the photo are vibrant contrast stitches of every colour holding together an unorthodox panelled trousers, while leaving the ends open as slits. The strong bottom is then paired with some pearly ivory PALACE sneakers with neon orange trims for a balanced look.

Thought I’ve never set foot in a show, dare I say that the allure of Fashion Week always lies on the streets of Paris where clever outfits surprise and inspire under the glaring Parisian sun.
